Unlike traditional 2D drawing, 3D modeling allows students to view and interact with their designs from every angle. Whether they dream of designing skyscrapers, inventing new products, or building the next great vehicle, CAD offers both the technical skills and creative freedom to turn ideas into reality.
1. Foundations of Design
Students will begin by learning the basics of digital drafting, including working with shapes, editing designs, and using grids and precise measurements to create accurate models.
As their skills grow, students will explore professional techniques such as Loft, Revolve, Fillet, Rib, and Shelling—allowing them to build both simple and complex 3D objects with confidence.
Design to Specifications: Students will tackle real-world challenges by creating models that meet specific design requirements.
Practical Prototyping: They’ll learn about common CAD file formats like .STL and .OBJ and how designs are prepared for manufacturing and 3D printing.
Students will apply everything they’ve learned in an exciting custom design challenge, solving a unique problem with their own creation. To top it off, each student will select one of their designs to be 3D printed—taking home a real, physical version of their digital work!Actors’ Workshop Summer Theater Camp - 14 Days - Week 3 of 3
