Synapse Robotics Club — Build It. Code It. Explore!

Presented by Synapse Robotics & AI
Build robots. Write code. Solve challenges!

What if you could build a robot that sees, grabs, sorts and moves objects on its own? Or design a super car that detects obstacles and navigates around them like a Mars rover? In Synapse Robotics Club, students turn these ideas into working robots.

Students in Grades 6–8 explore robotics through hands-on projects using VEX IQ / LEGO SPIKE Prime, advanced builds on Arduino / Raspberry Pi / NVIDIA Jetson and coding in Python / C++. They build and program autonomous cars that find their own way around, robotic arms and claw machines.

Students Will
  • Build with VEX IQ / LEGO SPIKE Prime
  • Learn coding — block coding, Python and an introduction to industry-standard C++
  • Build autonomous vehicles that detect obstacles
  • Design and program robotic arms and claw machines that grab, lift and sort
  • Advanced builds on Arduino / Raspberry Pi / NVIDIA Jetson — the same boards used in real robotics and AI
  • Solve real-world robotics challenges
  • Test, troubleshoot and improve their designs
  • Completely optional pathway into the VEX IQ Robotics Competition and FIRST LEGO League — including this season’s official competition robot

No prior robotics or coding experience required!

A pathway, not just a class

Every student finishes with a certificate of completion and a portfolio of robots they designed, built and programmed themselves. For students who want to pursue robotics further, this is the platform into high school robotics teams, school robotics labs and competition squads — the build, code and troubleshoot skills those programs look for are exactly what students practice here.

Materials Robots, laptops, sensors and materials provided
Groups Lead instructor plus trained helpers, so every student gets hands-on time

Students also take part in a family showcase at the end of the program.

Led by a VEX-certified instructor · Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy Partner · NVIDIA Inception Member
