Does your student love to build? Then this is the after school course designed for them. “KEVA planks are about 1/4 inch thick, 3/4 inch wide and 4 1/2 inches long. You build structures by simply stacking the planks. No glue, no connectors. They can be stacked upright which looks like it would be unstable as a house of cards, but even this type of structure is surprisingly stable.” Each day class will begin with individual building challenges, move to group challenges and then finish up with free time for building. During challenge activities students will practice different problem solving techniques as well as learning to work cooperatively in a group. Along the way they will learn some basic engineering, architectural, math and science skills.
In fact, did you know that research shows that students who play with blocks tend to do better in mathematics and science in higher grade levels? Well, it’s true and researchers from the University of Idaho have concluded that playing with blocks helps children develop a fundamental understanding of quantities, equality & geometry. Playing, building and having fun while learning, what could be a better than that?

Build a new theme park every class—water parks, space parks, safari adventures. Students are park designers and business owners: every math problem solved invites customers, builds rides, and grows the park. Behind the play is real grade-level math, Common Core-aligned and adjusted to each student's skill level, and after every class families get a recap of completed and challenging problems.
Example Classes this Session:
* Water Park: Manage water rides and the hydration station, solving problems fast to keep customers happy—the mini game is splashing ducks with addition equations.
* Pirate Park: Build ship rides and run pirate snack stands, using math to construct parts and track progress—learning how small steps build toward a larger goal.
* Space Park: Launch the park into space—math turns strategic; the mini game is constellation-drawing geometry.
* Real grade-level math: addition and subtraction, place value, measurement, early data, multiplication and division, and fractions.
* Math as a tool for making decisions—practice with purpose.
* Grades K–3; no experience needed. Students can take this class more than once—the parks change every session.

The class is a step-by-step journey with a major focus on juggling, where students build hand-eye coordination, focus, and confidence. Juggling is the perfect healthy challenge, requiring mathematical thinking, patience and perseverance. It’s also a lot of fun and never gets old. Students will start by juggling one ball, eventually move on to three, and learn a wide variety of juggling tricks and techniques and maybe even learn some partner juggling and tossing clubs. Also, students will earn special IJA Buttons to mark the achievement of new tricks. Taking all three trimesters of this class is recommended (but not mandatory), because circus skills progress best with consistent practice to build muscle memory. At the end of each trimester, students will take the stage in a special showcase of juggling, balance, movement and each child’s own unique talents. Join the crew this fall to start building an impressive skill set that you’ll show off for a lifetime! And did I mention we will make our own juggling balls for home practice?

Soccer Stars blends soccer skill-building with plenty of afterschool fun, small-sided games, and confidence-building coaching. Classes are grouped by age/grade level (typically TK-2nd and 3rd-5th, depending on enrollment), with opportunities for groups to play each other throughout the season.
Each week follows a simple, energizing rhythm:
Warm-Up: Drills that build speed, agility, and coordination.
Skill of the Week: A new foot-skill focus each week — toe taps, turns, tricks, and dribbling combinations — building ball control and confidence one step at a time. Skills are simple enough to practice at home, too!
Rule of the Week: Age-appropriate rules introduced and reinforced during live play, so kids learn the game naturally.
Game Time: Small-sided matches that maximize touches on the ball and keep the focus on fun over competition.
Coaches guide rather than over-direct, letting players learn through experimenting and observation — building teamwork, self-esteem, and a love of the game.
The season wraps up with our BIG GAME: a celebration of small-sided matches, team spirit, and a closing ceremony where every player receives a medal — parents are invited to come cheer their child on!
