At Soccer Stars, we use the soccer ball as the vehicle to help children improve their soccer skills, build self-confidence in the game of soccer and life, and learn what it means to be a good teammate both on and off the field.
Our curriculum was developed by early childhood educators and soccer professionals. Our structured classes teach soccer FUNdamentals through imagination and play--each class has a theme (i.e. the beach, outer space, race track) which makes learning fun! Our coaches are patient and a ton of fun; they not only love working with children, but also enjoy developing these skills in a nurturing and non-competitive environment!
In our 3rd-5th grade program, players will improve their creative capacity through technical skill development and small-sided games. This allows for freedom of expression with the ball—a vital concept is emphasized with the introduction of 1v1 dribbling and defending games. The addition of opponents allows the player to make decisions under pressure. High repetition ball control activities help each player become more proficient with the ball. *Each child will receive a Super Soccer Stars Medal at the end of the season.
Communication: Each week, you’ll receive an email outlining what your child is learning in class, including the specific skills they’re focusing on. We encourage you to use this as a conversation starter to ask your child about their day. Additionally, we use a platform called Homeroom, where coaches share photos and videos from class throughout the season.

It’s laughter, learning and limelight with the After School Drama Club - The Actor’s Workshop! Through a fun series of theater games, acting exercises and scripted scene work, this introductory acting class teaches the fundamentals of the actor’s craft. Students explore the “three tools of the actor” – voice, body and imagination – as they learn how to create characters, interpret scripts and perform for an audience. The class teaches true theater skills such as stagecraft, emotionally truthful acting, and professional theater etiquette, while encouraging creativity and inspiring the imagination. The class culminates with a workshop presentation of scenes and monologues for an invited audience.
Take it once or take it again and again! Students are encouraged to repeat the program several times. While the overall objectives remain the same, there are always new games, new activities and new performance scenes to keep the program varied and interesting. As students progress through successive iterations of the program, they continue to work on more sophisticated material in order to ensure that their skills continue to grow and that they are being appropriately challenged.

In the spring of each year, students in 3rd - 5th grade take important standardized summative assessments. These assessments help teachers, administrators, parents, and students know their strengths and areas that may need some improvement. These tests are taken on a computer, so it is important for students to know how to navigate the testing platform. In this course, students will learn how to navigate the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) platform. They will learn the different tools that are available to them when taking the test and we will do some practice tests so they can get a feel for the testing platform. Additionally, students will learn the proper techniques for typing so that they can move away from pecking at the keys. Finally, students will learn how to properly set up a Google document for typing. In this class, we will focus on proper spacing before and after punctuation, double spacing, and useful hotkeys. This course will allow students to become quicker at typing, which will allow them to produce written work at a faster pace.

This course is a fun and engaging after-school library reading hour designed to spark a love for reading in our youngest students. The program features a variety of materials, ranging from picture books to simple text, allowing children to explore characters, plots, and dialogue in an interactive way. Children also get an opportunity to stretch their limbs, move their muscles, and engage in kinesthetic activities.
The teacher engages every student in the weekly theme, reading various genres, from exploring all four seasons and gardening to rainbows and colors and celebrating firndship and kindness. After each story, students participate in discussions and creative activities like coloring and learning new vocabulary. They also move and interact with the story through physical activities, helping to reinforce learning. The FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) has been motivating children to research, experiment, build, and solve real-world challenges through robotics to gain a deep understanding of STEM in a friendly and collaborative environment. Not only do children learn robotics, coding, and engineering, but they also brainstorm and research innovative real-world projects and ideas while working in a team.
Every year, the FLL creates a new challenge focused on two segments. One aspect of the challenge involves precise robotic navigation, and the other aspect of the challenge focuses on research and problem solving. This class will introduce children to both of these aspects of the FLL contest. The idea is to get children motivated and prepared to participate in the national FLL challenge and eventually, to help them do well in these contests.

Students explore how authors use emotions, logic, and evidence to persuade readers to accept their argument. Instructors practice confidence techniques with examples to introduce students to understanding their thoughts through drawing, writing, and group discussions. Students have the opportunity to express their thoughts in both written and illustrated formats, to help them understand how to persuade their readers effectively. Learn chess with Pacific Chess Academy!
Offered to all levels (Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced) this program is a great opportunity for kids to learn how to overcome obstacles, think strategically, cultivate champion psychology, stay focused, and make new friends.
Each lesson consists of interactive instructions, analysis, and tournament games during which students play against each other. Lessons are fun and easy to follow and include individual instructions to practice at home. Kids are provided with all necessary chess equipment for lessons (boards, pieces, clocks, demonstration tools).
Additional online sessions (two per semester) will help students to improve their skills and become decent chess players in no time. Join this unique, fun, and interactive course to enhance your financial literacy. While our national report card shows many states earning a ‘C’ grade or worse for personal finance education, this course aims to fill the gap. Students will start their financial awareness journey from ancient bartering systems to modern blockchain technology based currencies such as Bitcoin.
Students will develop an understanding of key concepts such as currency, exchange rates, interest rate sensitivity, supply and demand, needs and wants, budgeting, taxes, and net worth. Through engaging activities and practical lessons, students will build a solid foundation in personal finance, equipping them with essential skills for a financially savvy future.
This course has been designed by CompuChild’s outstanding team members with PhDs, EdDs, children’s librarians, investment bankers, and big-six consultants.

Learn chess with Pacific Chess Academy!
Offered to all levels (Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced) this program is a great opportunity for kids to learn how to overcome obstacles, think strategically, cultivate champion psychology, stay focused, and make new friends.
Each lesson consists of interactive instructions, analysis, and tournament games during which students play against each other. Lessons are fun and easy to follow and include individual instructions to practice at home. Kids are provided with all necessary chess equipment for lessons (boards, pieces, clocks, demonstration tools).
Additional online sessions (two per semester) will help students to improve their skills and become decent chess players in no time. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced coding student, this class will work for you. Students will be able to work at their own pace. The class will blend step by step lessons in coding with fun, hands-on, "unplugged" activities. With an emphasis on developing computational thinking, students will learn about algorithms, debugging, loops, conditionals, binary coding and more. Working individually, in pairs and in teams, students will be introduced to coding using a block-based online coding program. The more advanced students will begin to work with Javascript using other online coding programs. In addition, students will have the opportunity to program Ollie robots and will learn to build and program LEGO robotic sets using basic engineering techniques and coding. Problem solving, persistence and teamwork will be emphasized.

Don’t like the mess of playdoh, slime, and paint but want you kids to have the opportunity to explore and create with all these exciting materials?
Come join Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Alvarez’s Sensory and Art Exploration class and make the mess here! Students will create with water colors, paint sticks, acrylic paint pens, oil pastels and more. They will also make and use playdoh, slime, and rice trays for exploration!
Sensory play is incredibly important for all kids, as it helps develop key skills that are essential for their growth and learning. Sensory play stimulates the brain by engaging multiple senses—sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. This helps build important neural connections that support cognitive development, memory, and problem-solving skills! Through activities like squishing playdough and painting children improve both fine and gross motor skills. Handling objects of various textures and weights helps develop hand-eye coordination and muscle control!
The weekly activities will spark creativity, inspire open-ended play, and encourage hands-on learning!
