Last month, Dublin Partners in Education (DPIE) hosted its annual Open House event. It was a well-attended uplifting affair that featured guests from across the City of Dublin. Present were members of the DUSD school board, city council members, sponsors, educators, parents and administrators to participate in our recognitions and announcements.
Two local educators were awarded the 2019 Teacher of the Year acknowledgment from the Alameda County Office of Education. From DUSD, the awardee is Jason Ewing – Fourth Grade Teacher at Green Elementary School, also honored was Chris Meyer, who teaches Digital Media Arts through the Tri-Valley Occupational Program at Dublin High School.
Another special guest joined us for a check presentation. On behalf of the newest corporation to relocate to Dublin, Cara Houck, of Patelco Credit Union, presented a $5,000 donation to DPIE in support of work that we are conducting to benefit the students in the Dublin Unified School District.

Ms Sobia Qureshi, DPIE Board President and Dr. David Marken, DUSD Superintendent. Both spoke to the purpose and benefits that are provided by DPIE and has led to an unprecedented $226,000 donation that has been reinvested back into the greater school community. Thereafter, our guests enjoyed amazing appetizers provided by the Dublin High School Culinary Academy. It was a perfect celebration of excellence and success.
