Students in this digital age will need to have computational thinking abilities as computer programming has become an essential skill used in almost any profession you choose. "Python for young minds" is aimed at introducing  students to think logically, enhance problem-solving skills and think creatively. We believe coding skills are going to be part of an essential set of skills and will also give a competitive edge in times to come. Python is kid-friendly and beginners language, as Python has natural language like structures, which enables kids to grasp programming concepts easily and keeps them interested. We also intend to keep learning fun and interesting through code challenges and interactive projects.

This engaging course introduces students to the art of persuasive reading and writing, helping them put their views into action with confidence and clarity. By analyzing various forms of persuasive writing, such as advertisements, speeches, and calls to action, students learn how figurative and rhetorical language, including ethos, logos, and pathos, can effectively convey ideas. Key topics include persuasion techniques, audience response, and an introduction to Greek philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.

The course combines reading and writing practice, enabling students to analyze persuasive texts and apply these techniques to their own work. Through guided instruction and group discussions, students learn to articulate their thoughts clearly, separating implied meaning from explicit content. Activities like writing persuasive essays, creating speeches, and participating in debates help students present facts, reasons, and examples to support their arguments.

The course concludes with a celebration where students showcase their persuasive ideas, receive feedback, and practice debate skills.

Persuasive Reading and Writing empowers students to:
● Analyze texts using figurative and rhetorical language to craft convincing arguments.
● Understand persuasive techniques and their impact in context.
● Structure logical, evidence-based arguments to inspire change and action.

Note: We love to keep parents updated on the class progress. We have established three key communication points: a teacher introduction to start the semester, a midpoint update featuring progress and activity photos, and a final email summarizing the semester’s achievements.

DPIE Intro to CAD

Computer-aided design (CAD) is a technology that allows kids to create and design their own digital models using specialized software. With CAD, kids can bring their imaginations to life by creating 3D models of anything they can imagine using a 3D printer, from toys to houses to robots. By using a computer and mouse, kids can easily manipulate the shapes and details of their designs, making changes and improvements along the way. Whether they want to become engineers, architects, or product designers, CAD gives kids the opportunity to explore their creative side and learn valuable technical skills that will serve them well in the future.
