In a recent decision, the Board of Directors at Dublin Partners in Education (DPIE) has demonstrated its commitment to the Dublin community by generously donating $40,000 to the eight elementary schools within the Dublin Unified School District (DUSD). This contribution is a token of appreciation for the vital support extended by these schools to the DPIE After School Enrichment Program and Summer Academies.

The $40,000 donation will be divided equally among the eight elementary schools, with each school receiving $5,000. This funding will be shared between the school itself and its Parent Faculty Club (PFC), with the specific aim of enriching student activities and programs.

This year's contribution marks a significant milestone, bringing DPIE's eight-year cumulative donation total for the After School Enrichment Program to $188,900. These funds have consistently played a crucial role in bolstering various student programs across Dublin elementary schools.

Principal’s Clara Lee & Joyce Trotter Voice Support of DPIE Programs

Principal Clara Lee of Kolb Elementary School expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the DPIE donation and the enrichment programs we offer. She emphasized the importance of these programs, which allow students to explore extracurricular interests not covered by the standard school curriculum.

Principal Joyce Trotter, of John Green Elementary School shared why she is a fan of the DPIE After School Program citing the diversity of course offerings available to her students.

Huge Program Growth

The 2022-2023 school year witnessed a remarkable surge in enrollments in the DPIE After School Enrichment program. Enrollment numbers swelled by almost 1,000 students from the Spring of 2022, reaching an impressive total of 2,154 students in the Spring of 2023. This spike was followed by an equally remarkable leap in enrollment for the elementary and middle school 2023 summer academies, doubling the number from 600 to nearly 1,200.

DPIE has also expanded its after school course offerings by introducing new reading and writing courses by Talentnook Writing Academy. These new offerings proved highly popular with Dublin families.

In the 2023 summer academies, DPIE added several new courses to an already diverse list. These included archery, art, public speaking, as well as innovative courses like "Percussion: How to Drum with Excellence," "Digital Photography," "Filmmaking," "Dance & Yoga," and "Introduction to Competitive Table Tennis." These offerings cater to a broad spectrum of student interests, further enriching their educational experience.

DPIE Plans New Course Offerings

DPIE is enthusiastic about the continued growth of both the After School and Summer Academies. Plans are already in motion to introduce new courses for the 2023-2024 school year and upcoming 2024 summer academy programs. The future looks bright for students in the Dublin Unified School District, as DPIE continues to find ways to support student learning in the Dublin School District.
